Woodinville is primarily a community of single-family dwellings, with about 37 percent multi-family development. Steep, thickly wooded slopes shape the valley where most of Woodinville’s residential development is located. Commercial, industrial and agricultural activities mostly cluster on the valley floor, but there is some light industry located on slopes and plateaus.
Woodinville, Washington is located in King County and home to about 11,000 residents but there is also a much larger population with Woodinville mailing addresses in adjacent unincorporated areas of King (Cottage Lake) and Snohomish (Maltby) counties.
Woodinville offers waterfront parks on the Sammamish River, sweeping winery and brewery grounds, and densely wooded residential areas. Woodinville also contains two historic and scenic rail lines. Officially referred to as the Woodinville Subdivision, they were used by the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train, whose destination was the Columbia Winery, until July 31, 2007, and they are still used for some freight service.
Woodinville is most well known for it's extensive wineries and breweries. With the world famous Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery and Red Hook Brewery there is alway something fun to do on the weekends. Many of the wineries host summer concerts with big names such as Amy Grant, Tori Amos, Counting Crows, Tony Bennett, Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Dave Matthews Band, and more!
